Hide the protection product from your storefront

The protection product is a regular Shopify product, so some themes list it like any other. Start with the first fix below; the others are for themes that still show it.

1. Keep the product Unlisted

Open the protection product (see Rename the protection product) and make sure its Status is Unlisted. Unlisted products can be added to the cart and appear on orders, but Shopify leaves them out of collections, search and product recommendations.

2. Exclude it from smart collections

If a smart collection still includes the product, open it in Products > Collections and add a condition:

• Product type · is not equal to · sam_protect_shipping

This works when the collection uses all conditions. With any condition, make sure none of the conditions matches the protection product. For a homepage “All products” grid, create a smart collection named “All” with only this condition.

3. Remove it from related products

Themes that build related products in Liquid can skip it in the loop. In Dawn, for example, open Online Store > Edit code, find related-products.liquid, and wrap each product in the loop:

Keep the other parameters your theme passes to card-product; only the if line and its endif are new.

4. Hide it from search

1. Go to Settings > Metafields and metaobjects > Products and click Add definition.
2. Name it, for example “Hide from search”, set Namespace and key to seo.hidden and Type to Integer.
3. Open the protection product, find the new metafield at the bottom and set it to 1.
