The best product bundling examples copy how customers in your niche already shop. A skincare buyer wants a routine. A coffee buyer wants to restock. A jewelry buyer wants pieces that match. Build the bundle around that habit, and it reads as help, not as a push to spend more.
Below are bundle ideas for 10 common Shopify niches, each matched to a bundle type. This post is about what to bundle. For the discount math, see our bundle pricing examples. For the bigger picture, our product bundles guide explains every bundle type and how they work on Shopify.
Which bundle ideas fit each niche?
Here is the short version. Each row is a starting point, not a rule.
| Niche | Bundle idea | Bundle type |
|---|---|---|
| Skincare and beauty | Morning or evening routine set | Fixed bundle |
| Coffee and tea | “Pick any 3” bags or tins | Bundle builder |
| Apparel | Multipacks of basics | Quantity breaks |
| Pet supplies | New puppy or kitten starter kit | Fixed bundle |
| Supplements and wellness | 1, 2 or 3 month supply | Quantity breaks |
| Candles and home | Scent sampler | Bundle builder |
| Phone and tech accessories | Case, screen protector and cable kit | Fixed bundle |
| Fitness and yoga | Starter kit with one item per category | Mix and match |
| Baby and kids | New parent gift set | Fixed bundle |
| Jewelry | Stack of rings or bracelets | Mix and match |
The bundle type follows from one question: who picks the items? If the set only makes sense as a whole, you pick (fixed bundle). If customers want more of the same thing, they pick the quantity (quantity breaks). If taste matters, they pick the items (mix and match or bundle builder).
What bundles work for beauty and skincare stores?
Beauty is the niche where bundling feels most natural. Products are designed to be used in a sequence, and new customers often don’t know which ones go together.
- Routine sets. Cleanser, serum and moisturizer as a “morning routine”. This is a fixed bundle: you choose the items, and the customer adds the set in one click.
- Routines by skin type. One slot for a cleanser, one for a treatment, one for a moisturizer, each with options for dry, oily or sensitive skin. That is a mix and match bundle.
- Discovery or travel sets. Let shoppers pick any 4 minis from a list. A bundle builder fits, with the discount stepping up as they add more.
A fixed set also helps with variants. In Sam Bundles, shoppers pick the options for each item in a fixed bundle, such as shade or size, before adding the whole set to the cart.
What bundles work for coffee, tea and food stores?
Food and drink products get used up, so the best bundles help customers stock up or try more of your range.
- Variety boxes. “Pick any 3 bags” or “build your own tea box”. A bundle builder lets customers choose the flavors while you control which products are on the list.
- More of the house favorite. Quantity breaks on your best-selling blend, such as 1 bag, 2 bags or 3 bags at a lower price per bag.
- Brew kits. Beans plus filters, or loose tea plus an infuser. A fixed bundle works when the hardware only makes sense with the consumable.
One practical check for food: make sure the items ship well in the same box. A bundle that mixes chilled and shelf-stable products, for example, may need packaging you don’t use today.
What bundles work for apparel and jewelry stores?
Fashion buyers care about fit and style, so these niches lean on bundles where the customer chooses.
Apparel
- Multipacks of basics. Socks, tees and underwear sell well with quantity breaks, because people already buy several at once.
- Outfits. One top, one bottom and one accessory, with the customer picking each piece. Our mix and match bundles guide walks through planning the groups.
- Complete the look. Add a matching belt or hat to a quantity tier, so a shopper buying two shirts sees the accessory at the same discount.
Jewelry
- Stacks. Let shoppers pick three rings or bracelets that work together. A mix and match bundle keeps each slot to one piece.
- Matching sets. Necklace and earrings in the same design, as a fixed bundle.
- Gift boxes. A fixed set with a gift box product included, scheduled ahead of a holiday.
What bundles work for pet, baby and gift-heavy niches?
These niches have a clear “starter” moment: a new pet, a new baby, a first purchase. Bundles that answer “what do I need?” do well here.
Pet supplies
- Starter kits. Food, a bowl, treats and a toy for a new puppy or kitten, as a fixed bundle.
- Restock tiers. Quantity breaks on litter, treats or chews that customers reorder.
- Treat sampler. A bundle builder of different treat flavors, so owners can find what their pet likes.
Baby and kids
- New parent gift sets. A swaddle, a bib and a soft toy, as a fixed bundle with a round price. Gift buyers like knowing the set is complete.
- Outfit sets by size. Mix and match, so the buyer picks one bodysuit, one pant and one hat in the right size.
- Multipacks. Bibs, socks or burp cloths with quantity breaks.
Candles and home decor
- Scent samplers. “Pick any 3 candles” as a bundle builder. This helps first-time buyers try your range.
- Candle care kits. A candle plus a wick trimmer and snuffer. In Sam Bundles, you can add the accessories to a quantity tier with Complete the bundle, or sell the set as a fixed bundle.
- Seasonal sets. A holiday trio, as a fixed bundle that runs only in the gift season.
What bundles work for supplements, tech and fitness stores?
Supplements and wellness
- Supply tiers. A 1, 2 or 3 month supply as quantity breaks. Name the bars by duration, not just count, so customers know what they’re buying.
- Stacks. Two or three products often used together, as a fixed bundle.
Keep bundle names to what’s in the box. “Morning stack” describes the set. A name that suggests a health result makes a claim you have to support.
Phone and tech accessories
- Protection kits. Case, screen protector and charging cable, as a fixed bundle. Customers pick their phone model for each item.
- Cable and charger multipacks. Quantity breaks, since people buy one for each room or device.
- Desk setup. A stand, a cable organizer and a hub, as a mix and match bundle with options in each slot.
Fitness and yoga
- Starter kits. A mat, a block and a strap. Use mix and match if each item comes in several colors or thicknesses.
- Resistance bands or weights. Quantity breaks or a bundle builder for sets of different strengths.
How do you set up these bundle ideas in Sam Bundles?
Every idea above maps to one template. On the app home, click Create new offer, pick a brand color, then choose a template:
| Bundle type in this post | Sam Bundles template | Setup guide |
|---|---|---|
| Quantity breaks | Quantity breaks for the same product | Quantity breaks |
| Quantity breaks plus a gift | Quantity breaks with a free gift | Quantity breaks |
| Buy one, get one | Buy X, get Y (BXGY) deal | Buy X, get Y |
| Mix and match | Mix & Match | Mix and match |
| Pick any items | Bundle Builder | Bundle builder |
| Fixed set | Product Fixed Bundle | Fixed bundle |
A few details that matter for the niche ideas:
- Fixed bundles can include up to 30 products, 3 options and 2,048 variants. You set a percentage or amount off, or type your own bundle price.
- Mix and match uses one Bundle option per slot, such as “Ring 1” or “Mat”, each with the products shoppers can choose from.
- Bundle builder tiers are set as Buy at least a number of items. Group by category splits the list by collection, which helps for flavor or scent ranges.
- Schedule sets a start and end date, which suits seasonal gift sets.
Mix and match, bundle builder and fixed bundle orders list every item at its bundle price, so your team packs from a normal order. For the full walkthrough, see how to create bundles on Shopify, or compare the options in the Sam Bundles app page.
How do you pick the right example for your store?
Don’t copy a niche example blindly. Check it against your own orders first:
- Look for repeat quantities. Products customers already buy two or more of are quantity break candidates.
- Look for common pairs. Products that often share an order are fixed bundle candidates.
- Look for variety. If customers mix flavors, scents or sizes in one order, try mix and match or a bundle builder.
- Check margin and stock. A bundle can only sell while every item is in stock, and the discount has to fit your margin.
- Launch one offer. Put it on your best seller and compare a few weeks before and after.
Our product bundling strategy post goes deeper on choosing products, and fixed vs mix and match vs bundle builder helps when two types seem to fit.
What bundle mistakes should you avoid in any niche?
- Bundling unrelated items. A best seller paired with a random slow mover looks like a clearance bin.
- Inflating the “before” price. Compare against prices you really charge. In the US, the FTC’s guide on bargain offers warns against a seller who “increases his regular price of the article required to be bought”, and says “all the terms and conditions of the offer should be made clear at the outset” (16 CFR 233.4). This is general information, not legal advice.
- Too many offers at once. Overlapping bundles stack discounts and blur your results. In Sam Bundles, the Advanced card on each offer sets which product, order and shipping discounts it can combine with.
- Ignoring shipping. Check box size and weight before you promise a set.
Start with the one idea from your niche that matches how your customers already buy. Measure it, then add the next.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good example of product bundling?
A skincare routine set is a classic example: a cleanser, serum and moisturizer sold together as one offer, usually at a lower price than buying each item alone. It works because customers already use the products together, so the bundle saves them decisions instead of pushing extra items.
Which niches are best for product bundles?
Niches where products are used together (beauty, electronics accessories, fitness gear), used up and reordered (coffee, pet food, supplements), or bought as gifts (candles, jewelry, baby products) tend to bundle well. Niches with one-off, high-ticket products have fewer natural pairs.
Should every product in my store be part of a bundle?
No. Start with one offer on a best seller and measure it for a few weeks. Bundles on every product overlap, stack discounts you did not plan for, and make it hard to tell which offer did the work.
Can customers choose the items in a bundle?
Yes, if you use a mix and match bundle or a bundle builder. In mix and match, they pick one product from each group you set. In a bundle builder, they pick any products from a list, and the discount grows with the number of items.
