How is it used for protection?

The extension shows a protection offer after payment. If the customer accepts, the app edits the paid order to add the protection line item and the customer pays the difference. Because the order is already placed, this adds no friction to checkout.

What do you need?

An app built on checkout UI extensions, and the permissions it asks for. Sam’s thank-you page offer needs the “Edit orders” permission; without it, customers who accept see an error that the store has not granted permission to edit orders.

Example

After paying, a customer sees “Protect this order for $1.98” on the confirmation page and taps add. The protection item joins the order without a second checkout.
