Reship
Reship: Sending a replacement order to a customer whose original package was lost, damaged or stolen, instead of refunding them.
When should you reship?
Reship when you have stock and the customer still wants the item. It keeps the sale, and customers who get their order quickly are often happier than with a refund.
When is a refund better?
When the item is out of stock, time-sensitive, or the customer asks for their money back.
How do you reship on Shopify?
Create a replacement order, for example a draft order at no charge, or use your protection app’s reorder option. If one route keeps losing packages, use a different service or add signature confirmation for the replacement.
Example
A customer’s sneakers are stolen from the porch. The store reships the same size the same day with signature confirmation, and the customer has them two days later.
