INR chargeback
INR chargeback: An "item not received" chargeback: the customer asks their card issuer to reverse a payment because they say the order never arrived.
Why do INR chargebacks happen?
Usually because the customer could not get a quick answer from the store about a missing package. Disputing the charge with their bank feels easier than waiting.
What helps you win or avoid them?
- Tracking and proof of delivery, including delivery photos and signatures.
- A visible claims process so customers ask you first, not their bank.
- Fast resolution: a reship or refund before the customer thinks of a dispute.
A chargeback also costs a dispute fee and time, even when you win, so preventing it is cheaper than fighting it.
Example
A customer emails twice about a missing order and gets no reply, then disputes the charge. A store with a protection offer and a claims page would have had a claim to resolve instead.
